The Brock ISD Board of Trustees approved the Citizens Advisory Committee’s (CAC) recommendation of a $21,360,000 bond proposal, which was presented on the November 5 ballot as a single proposition and does not include a tax rate increase.
The CAC was led by community chair Mike Kirk and included 21 fellow community members. The $21,360,000 bond proposal will address classroom capacity at the secondary level, additional school buses, along with safety and technology upgrades district-wide.
The bond package includes funding for distrct wide updates and renovations to two existing campuses.

Schedule: Completed fall 2020 (Buses purchased over next five years)

JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL
• Classroom addition increasing capacity to 650, including an additional gym
• Increased capacity will accommodate future growth along with moving sixth grade from the intermediate school
Schedule: Construction begins fall 2020, open fall 2021
Budget: $9,500,000*
HIGH SCHOOL
• Classroom addition increasing capacity to 800, including additional career and technology program spaces
• Lab addition at the agriculture building for welding and fabrication
Schedule: Construction begins spring 2021, open fall 2022
Budget: $10,160,000*
*Project budgets represent a “turn-key” amount, which includes estimated construction cost, escalation due to inflation, fees, permits, furniture, equipment, and storm shelter code requirements.
